Heesemann strengthens management team: Björn Schindler heads up the Service division
Service is a crucial factor in the life of a machine and becomes increasingly important as the machine population ages, particularly in the mechanical engineering industry. Service will also play an even greater role for Heesemann in the future. Moving forward, the machine manufacturer from Bad Oeynhausen in Germany has decided to expand the management team.
Bad Oeynhausen, 12 July 2023
Björn Schindler joined the management as the new Service Division Manager on July 1, 2023. His primary task consists of continuously improving service performance through activities such as developing new and forward-looking service products which far exceed the scope of the classic service and spare parts business. Customer relations and selling services will also be intensified. The machine manufacturer aims to strengthen its direct customer contact to further increase the visibility of its problem-solving expertise.
After studying engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, Björn Schindler worked at various companies and in diverse industries, most recently serving as the Technical Manager at a medium-sized manufacturing company in the Osnabrück region. In this role, Mr. Schindler was responsible optimizing processes in production, introducing an online configurator as well as joint product development with customers, from the initial idea to the prototype. His further education as a sustainability manager at the FHM as a perfect fit for Heesemann’s strategic orientation: “For me, service is sustainable in itself. Because maintaining existing machines through regular service, equipping them with new technical features and making them fit for the future in the process, such as with Heesemann’s rebuild programme, all make an essential contribution to conserving resources. Heesemann machines are renowned for their exceptionally long service life. I would like to contribute to further advancing Heesemann’s approach to sustainability with new ideas and expanded services. This is matter of personal importance to me and I am looking forward to my new role.”
Christoph Giese, Managing Director of Heesemann, is very pleased with the reinforcement: “The Heesemann brand enjoys a special reputation on the market. Our machines are known for their innovative and durable solutions and perfect surface qualities. Thanks to their robust design, they operate reliably for decades, and their core assemblies are completely wear-free. We do not want to simply sell machines to our customers. We also want to offer them comprehensive and innovative solutions extending beyond the life cycle of our machines. Service will become even more important in the future, and this was the deciding factor behind our decision to create the Service Division Manager role. This is a clear signal both internally and externally. I am pleased that we have successfully recruited Mr. Schindler to fill this strategically important position and wish him a good start with us.”
